A World Singles challenge match was played between Geoff Myers and Dave
Lockwood in the Castle Inn on Castle Street, on Friday 22nd November, 1996.
The results were as follows.

As you can see, it was neck and neck until round four, after which Dave
secured a win with a couple of 6-1s.
